ART THERAPY FOR CHILDREN

Lilia.jpg

HOW DOES IT WORK?

These sessions draw upon the principles of child centered play therapy, providing children with the opportunity to express themselves through various forms of art and play in the therapeutic process to resolve any difficulties they may be experiencing. This form of therapy feels easy and natural to children and reaffirms their sense of who they are as individuals. As part of this process, feedback is provided to parents, carers, teachers and other important people in the child’s life, helping them to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences and learnings within sessions, so they are able to best support the child’s optimal growth and development.

WHO CAN BENEFIT?

Sessions are beneficial for children who present with a wide range of difficulties such as social, emotional or behavioural issues, parental separation, grief and loss, low self-esteem, anger and aggression, anxiety, depressive symptoms, ASD and ADHD.

SESSIONS

Sessions are offered at reasonable rates and are currently available at Thornbury Primary School and in Briar Hill, Melbourne. Funding may be accessed through the NDIS.
